Galala University Hosts Its Annual Iftar Celebration and Student Union Inauguration
In an atmosphere filled with joy, unity, and a strong sense of belonging, Galala University (GU) celebrated its annual Iftar gathering, bringing together students, faculty members, and administrative staff to share the blessings of Ramadan. The evening began with a warm welcome to all attendees, who gathered to break their fast in a beautifully decorated venue that reflected the spirit of Ramadan. The delicious Iftar meal was followed by a night full of engaging activities, laughter, and unforgettable performances. Guests enjoyed a nostalgic journey through the golden era of Egyptian music with “Ayamna El Helwa”, whose 90s hits brought back cherished memories and energized the crowd. The cultural program also featured a lively performance of “El Leila El Kebeera”, the iconic Egyptian puppet operetta that celebrates traditional folklore, followed by a captivating Tanoura dance show, which added color, rhythm, and heritage to the evening’s atmosphere.
A key highlight of the night was the inauguration ceremony of GU’s Student Union, marking a proud milestone for the student community. The newly elected members of the union were honored and celebrated by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, GU President, who congratulated them on earning the trust of their peers and encouraged them to uphold the values of leadership, service, and teamwork. He emphasized the vital role of the Student Union in representing student voices, strengthening communication between students and administration, and organizing initiatives that enrich student life.
