Galala University Hosts Its First Arab League Simulation Model to Promote Interactive Learning and Regional Dialogue

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance interactive education and equip students with essential political and diplomatic skills, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Galala University successfully organized the university’s first simulation model of the Arab League. The event brought together students from the Economics and Political Science program and was attended by prominent academic figures and experts in Arab affairs.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, attended the event and engaged directly with students, commending their outstanding performance and affirming the university’s full support for innovative educational experiences.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Dr. Kareem El-Baz, Assistant Professor of Political Science, and Dr. Nagwa Samak, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. A preliminary session followed, where participating students presented their countries’ positions on key issues.
The core session focused on a highly relevant and pressing topic: “The Water Crisis and Opportunities for Economic Transition to a Green Economy in the Arab World.” Students demonstrated remarkable analytical skills, offering informed, balanced perspectives on regional cooperation and sustainability.
The simulation also welcomed distinguished guests, including Mr. Shadi Hammouda, Vice President of the Legal Sector at the Arab Youth Platform for Sustainable Development, and Mr. Yasser Abou Sido, Youth Programs Officer at the Training and Work Methods Development Administration. Both guests led a meaningful dialogue with students, emphasizing the critical role of youth in shaping the future of Arab collaboration.
This initiative reflects Galala University’s firm alignment with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
•Goal 4: Quality Education – by fostering interactive, experiential learning that deepens students’ understanding of real-world issues.
•Goal 13: Climate Action – through in-depth discussions on water scarcity and green economy strategies in the Arab world.
•Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – by empowering students to engage with issues of governance, cooperation, and diplomacy.
•Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals – by collaborating with youth-focused organizations and regional experts to enrich the learning experience.
Through initiatives like this simulation, Galala University continues to prepare future leaders capable of navigating complex regional dynamics and contributing meaningfully to the development of a more sustainable and collaborative Arab world.
