Galala University Open House Day for High School Students

Galala University opened its doors to prospective high school students for a full-day Open House designed to turn curiosity into clear pathways. From the first welcome session, visitors were guided through how degrees at GU translate into skills, internships, and real-world outcomes—supported by modern labs, studios, and student services that make the transition to university life both structured and supportive.

Small-group tours moved across key academic hubs, where faculty and student ambassadors broke down admission requirements, program structures, and capstone opportunities. In engineering and computing, guests saw demonstrations of prototyping and data labs; in health and life sciences, skills labs highlighted simulation-based learning and safety protocols; and in business and media spaces, students explored analytics suites and production facilities. At each stop, mentors connected classroom learning to employability—showing how projects, internships, and community-based learning build toward confident careers.

Interactive Q&A sessions gave families space to ask what matters most—curriculum rigor, academic support, scholarships, accommodation, transport, and campus safety. Student life booths showcased athletics, arts, and community initiatives, while guidance teams explained the application process step-by-step, from submitting documents to placement tests and financial aid options. Entertainment segments and student-led activities kept the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, mirroring the community students will join.

In line with the university’s direction under Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, the day emphasized opportunity and accountability: clear learning outcomes, measurable support, and a campus culture that values both excellence and inclusion. The message was simple—students should leave with fewer questions, more confidence, and a practical sense of where they fit and how to get started.

The Open House advances sdg4 (Quality Education) by making information accessible and connecting prospective students with academic mentors; sdg8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by foregrounding employability, internships, and industry-linked learning; sdg10 (Reduced Inequalities) through transparent guidance on admissions and financial support; and sdg17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening ties with schools, families, and community stakeholders who support learners’ next steps.
