In a unique experience that bridges academic knowledge with real-world pharmaceutical innovation, second- and third-year students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Galala University actively participated in the “NAWAH Scientific Day” on Saturday, May 10th at NAWAH Scientific Center—a hub for advanced pharmaceutical research and development. This initiative provided students with deep exposure to cutting-edge laboratory practices and industry-grade research environments.
During the visit, students explored a wide range of specialized departments including Microbiology, Formulations, Chemistry, Stability Testing, and most notably, Cell Culture—where they were introduced to the promising world of stem cell technology and its applications in pharmaceutical development and regenerative medicine.
This experience not only offered invaluable hands-on learning but also directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 4 – Quality Education: By enabling experiential learning beyond the classroom, the Faculty of Pharmacy ensures that students gain a well-rounded, future-ready education aligned with international standards.
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: The initiative strengthens ties between academia and scientific institutions, empowering students to become contributors to innovation within the pharmaceutical sector.
The students’ enthusiastic participation reflects the faculty’s steadfast commitment to creating dynamic, industry-relevant educational opportunities that not only deepen scientific understanding but also contribute to broader societal advancement.
