Advancing SDG 4 & SDG 17 through Educational Excellence
Galala University (GU) was honored to host the transformative workshop titled “Bedaya” on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Organized by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education (NAQAAE), this initiative introduced higher education students to the essential principles of quality assurance in education — aligning directly with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The “Bedaya” workshop — meaning “Beginning” in Arabic — offered students a foundational understanding of how quality assurance supports academic excellence and sustainable learning environments. Participants explored:
• The role of quality assurance in maintaining and improving academic standards.
• The importance of accreditation in ensuring the credibility and global recognition of degrees.
• The positive impact of a quality-assured education on career prospects and personal development.
• The role of students in building a culture of quality within their institutions.
By empowering students with this knowledge, the initiative directly contributes to the improvement of education systems (SDG 4) and fosters a sense of responsibility among young learners to uphold quality and integrity in education.
This workshop also exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reflecting the collaborative efforts between Galala University and national stakeholders like NAQAAE to share expertise, raise awareness, and build institutional capacity for sustainable development.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NAQAAE for championing quality assurance in education and to our students for their inspiring engagement. Together, we are building a future where education empowers, transforms, and sustains.
Stay tuned for more initiatives supporting the Sustainable Development Goals at Galala University!
