Galala University extends its heartfelt congratulations to its outstanding students who achieved remarkable success at the Arab and African Championships in Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquathlon, hosted in Galala City under the auspices of H. E. Prof. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of youth and sports, and sponsored by Galala University on September 26–27. The championship welcomed participants from 19 Arab, African, and international countries, with more than 900 athletes of different ages and categories.
Our champions made the university proud with their continental and regional achievements:
Omar Mohamed Ismail (Omar Ahmed) – Faculty of Medicine: 1st place in Africa and 1st place in the Arab world.
Fatma Ahmed Hassan Mohamed – 3rd-year student, Faculty of Dentistry: 1st place in Age Group 20–24 and 1st place overall in Sprint Duathlon Women – Africa.
Bilal Mohamed Ahmed Sobhy – Faculty of Medicine, U23, Sprint Duathlon: 2nd place at the Arab level.
Ali Abdel Latif Ali Bakhit – 2nd-year student, Dental Technology Program, U23, Standard Aquathlon: 3rd place in Africa in his category.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his immense pride in the university’s athletes, noting that their success reflects the university’s commitment to empowering its students, nurturing their talents, and supporting extracurricular activities alongside academic excellence.
He added: “Galala University is not only a pioneering academic institution but also a hub for fostering talents across different fields, including sports, in line with Egypt’s vision of building well-rounded citizens and developing their multiple potentials.”
