Galala University Organizes the 4th Nanoscience Symposium to Spotlight the Latest Nanotechnology Applications in Egypt and Beyond

The Nanoscience and Technology Program at Galala University organized the 4th Nanoscience Symposium, an annual scientific forum designed to enhance collaboration and highlight the latest advancements and applications in the field of nanotechnology.

The symposium took place at the Faculty of Basic Sciences under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Radwa Hassan Abou-Saleh, Director of the Nanoscience and Technology Program.

The event featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Giorgio De Luke, an Italian researcher, alongside prominent Egyptian scientists in the field, including Dr. Wael Mamdouh, Professor of Nanotechnology at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Mohamed Farahat, Director of the Research Center at Zewail City of Science and Technology, and Dr. Tarek El-Khouly from Delta University.

In addition, graduates of the Nanoscience and Technology Program at Galala University presented their innovative research projects, showcasing the university’s role in nurturing young scientists capable of addressing contemporary global challenges through nanotechnology.

On the sidelines of the symposium, a cooperation agreement was signed between Galala University and Pharmacores Company, representing a new step toward fostering partnerships that connect academic research with industrial applications, particularly in fields such as healthcare, sustainable materials, and environmental solutions.

Prof. Dr. Radwa Abou-Saleh highlighted that the symposium serves as a vital platform for strengthening communication among academics, researchers, and industry experts. She emphasized that nanotechnology research plays a transformative role in achieving sustainable development by offering innovative solutions to environmental, energy, and health challenges, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—notably Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3).

Throughout the symposium, participants from various universities and research centers presented research papers and projects, engaging in scientific discussions on the latest breakthroughs and emerging technologies in nanoscience.

The event concluded with words of appreciation to the organizing students and participants, reaffirming the importance of such scientific gatherings in advancing research and innovation. The symposium underscored Galala University’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the global sustainable development agenda, positioning the university as a leading hub for research and innovation in nanotechnology.
