As part of Galala University’s continuous commitment to community outreach and public health initiatives, the Faculty of Dentistry organized a dental convoy to The Plaza Factory in Suez City. This outreach activity aimed to provide essential dental care services, raise oral health awareness among workers, and facilitate access to continued dental treatment for factory employees.
The convoy team was led by Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Director of the Faculty Dental Clinics, and included seven teaching assistants representing a range of dental specialties. Throughout the day, the team conducted comprehensive dental examinations and diagnoses for 103 patients, addressing various oral health conditions commonly associated with industrial working environments, including gum disease, dental caries, and occupationally related dental concerns.
During the examinations, the team provided immediate guidance on oral hygiene, preventive practices, and lifestyle habits that contribute to long-term dental health. Educational materials were also shared with the workers to help reinforce awareness and encourage early intervention for emerging dental issues.
Cases requiring further specialized intervention or long-term follow-up were referred to the Faculty’s Dental Clinics at Galala University, ensuring that patients received the appropriate treatment within a professional and well-equipped clinical environment. This referral pathway supports continuity of care and reflects the Faculty’s dedication to delivering comprehensive dental services beyond the initial outreach.
This initiative highlights the Faculty of Dentistry’s ongoing efforts to promote oral health education, expand community service, and extend quality dental care beyond the university campus. It further reinforces Galala University’s mission to foster social responsibility, enhance public health awareness, and strengthen its engagement with the local community.
