In celebration of Pink October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Galala University organized a special seminar titled “Breast Cancer Early Detection”, held under the Presidential Women’s Health Initiative to raise awareness about the importance of early screening and women’s health.
The seminar took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Auditorium 1 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University and Professor of Surgery and Breast Diseases.
The session featured Prof. Dr. Naglaa Abdel Razek, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology and Women’s Health at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University (Kasr Al Ainy), as a distinguished guest speaker, and was moderated by Prof. Dr. Salma Dowara, Professor of Surgery and Breast Diseases and Advisor to the GU President for the Health Sector.
The seminar emphasized the importance of preventive care, highlighting that early detection can increase recovery rates to over 98%. This initiative reflects Galala University’s commitment to promoting public health awareness and supporting national efforts to empower women through education and proactive health care.
