A delegation from Galala University’s Faculty of Media Production participated in the 11th Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty of Media at the 6th of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University). The participation reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to supporting scientific research, enhancing academic collaboration, and maintaining an active presence in major national media forums.
The conference gathered a distinguished group of professors, researchers, and media specialists representing diverse fields across media studies. Over the course of the event, participants engaged in scientific sessions addressing contemporary themes in media, communication, drama, and marketing, with a focus on emerging trends and ethical challenges in the media industry.
Within the session titled “Drama and the Entertainment Industry: An Ethical Dilemma,” the Faculty of Media Production presented two research papers. The first, delivered by Dr. Iman Suleiman and Dr. Sarah El-Maghraby, examined “Drama, Social Media, and Collective Concern in Egypt: A Case Study of Child Abuse,” highlighting the intersection of drama narratives and social media engagement in shaping public awareness. The second paper, presented by Ms. Dina Adel, explored “The Role of International Drama on Netflix in Encouraging Egyptian Adults to Travel,” offering insights into the cultural and behavioral influence of global streaming content.
The Faculty also contributed to the session “Marketing Between Creativity and Ethical Responsibility in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” Dr. Walaa Khuzam presented her research titled “Eradicating Artificial Intelligence Illiteracy and Generation Z’s Reception of AI-Generated Content on Social Media in Egypt.” Her paper was awarded second place in the Research Excellence Award, underscoring the high scientific standing of Galala University’s researchers. In the same session, Ms. Tasneem El-Shahat presented a study titled “The Role of Facebook in Achieving the Third Sustainable Development Goal: An Analytical Study of the Official Pages of the Suez Canal Region Governorates,” addressing the relationship between digital platforms and community development impact.
The Faculty of Media Production affirmed that participation in such conferences aligns with its strategic vision to support academic research, empower faculty members, and encourage active engagement in scientific and professional networks. These contributions enhance scholarly output, enrich media knowledge production, and strengthen the Faculty’s position locally and regionally.
