Galala University extends its sincere congratulations to student Mohamed Yasser, from the Faculty of Physical Therapy, in recognition of his remarkable athletic achievement during his participation in the 2026 Egypt Taekwondo Cup – First Division Championship for Cairo Clubs, Upper Egypt, and Canal Cities sectors.

The championship was held at Cairo International Stadium and witnessed strong competition with the participation of 52 clubs and sports organizations, alongside more than 690 male and female athletes from across Egypt.

Mohamed Yasser delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, securing two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal, reflecting his dedication, perseverance, and exceptional athletic talent, particularly amid the highly competitive technical level of the championship. The tournament comes within the framework of the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation’s strategy to prepare a new generation of champions capable of representing Egypt internationally.

This achievement adds to Mohamed Yasser’s successful sports journey, as he has previously earned several distinguished local taekwondo titles, in addition to winning first place at the 2024 Arab Championship, reaffirming his position as one of the promising athletic role models capable of raising the name of both the university and Egypt in regional and international sports arenas.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his pride in Mohamed Yasser’s accomplishment, emphasizing that the university is committed to supporting distinguished students across academic, athletic, and cultural fields, believing in the importance of building well-rounded personalities capable of achieving excellence on all levels.

He added that this achievement reflects the spirit of determination and hard work among Galala University students and highlights the ability of Egyptian youth to compete and excel in various sports competitions, wishing the student continued success and further accomplishments in the future.

Dr. Mohamed Abosetta , General Director of Student Activities at the university, also affirmed that the university places great importance on supporting sports activities, discovering talented students, and helping them develop their abilities. He noted that Mohamed Yasser’s achievement represents an honorable model for Galala University students and demonstrates the importance of providing a supportive environment that enables students to balance academic excellence with athletic success.

He further added that the Student Life Department remains committed to providing full support for talented students to participate in local and international championships, contributing to enhancing the university’s presence in various sports events.
