Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering international academic engagement and encouraging student participation in global platforms, Galala University announced the distinguished participation of two of its students in the “International Honor Program” organized by the Arab Mediterranean Campus. The two-week program was hosted in Rome and Naples, Italy, by LUISS University and Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, bringing together outstanding students from across the Mediterranean region.
The program featured the participation of Mohamed El Sadeq, a Biotechnology student from the Faculty of Basic Sciences, and Ammar Hegazy, a Logistics and Supply Chain Management student from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. During the program, the students engaged in a rich academic and cultural experience that included advanced lectures, interactive workshops, and political dialogue sessions addressing major regional and global challenges, as well as discussions on regional cooperation, sustainability, and shared Mediterranean priorities.
The program also included official visits to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where participants gained insights into international cooperation mechanisms in the fields of sustainable development, diplomacy, and multilateral collaboration.
In addition, the students visited Confindustria, one of Italy’s leading economic organizations, where they explored international business dynamics, trade relations, and opportunities for economic cooperation between African and Mediterranean countries.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his pride in the participation of the university’s students in such a prestigious international program, emphasizing that the university prioritizes shaping students who are capable of engaging with international issues and thriving in multicultural environments, thereby enhancing their academic and leadership competencies.
He added that participation in international programs reflects the quality of education offered at Galala University and its dedication to providing educational opportunities and global experiences that prepare highly qualified graduates capable of competing regionally and internationally while representing Egypt honorably on global platforms.
For his part, Dr. Ehab El Sayed Hassanein, Vice President for Academic Affairs, affirmed that the university strongly believes in the importance of interdisciplinary learning and exposure to international experiences as essential components in building a new generation of leaders and innovators.
He noted that the students’ participation in the Arab Mediterranean Campus International Honor Program represents a genuine model for integrating academic education with practical experience and international dialogue, contributing to the development of students’ critical thinking, communication, and international collaboration skills.
Galala University also expressed its pride in its students, who represented both Egypt and the university with distinction on an international platform and contributed to strengthening cooperation and dialogue among Mediterranean youth, in line with the university’s vision of preparing impactful graduates capable of contributing to regional and international development.
