Galala University has achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, advancing to the 801–1000 band globally among 1,603 participating institutions worldwide.
This achievement marks a notable progression from the University’s 2025 placement in the 1001–1500 band, reflecting Galala University’s growing contribution to sustainable development through education, research, innovation, and community engagement.
The 2026 results demonstrate the University’s expanding impact across the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While Galala University was recognized in 12 SDGs in the 2025 rankings, the University is now represented across all 17 SDGs, highlighting its comprehensive commitment to sustainability and responsible institutional development.
Among the University’s strongest performances in the 2026 ratings were:
• sdg15: 201–300 globally
• sdg14: 301–400 globally
• sdg2, sdg3, sdg6, sdg7, sdg11, sdg12, sdg13, and sdg16: 401–600 globally
• sdg1, sdg4, sdg5, sdg9, and sdg10: 601–800 globally
Commenting on the achievement, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, said:
