Galala University President Speaks at International Conference in Madrid on Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration in Higher Education

Galala University participated in a high-level international conference held in Madrid, Spain, jointly organized by the World Bank and IE University, to discuss the future of higher education and explore effective partnerships between academic institutions and the public and private sectors.

As part of the conference program, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, participated as a featured speaker in the panel discussion titled “Stronger Together: Reinvigorating Public-Private Collaboration.” The session examined strategies for strengthening public-private partnerships to foster innovation, expand access to education, and align educational outcomes with labor market needs while maintaining academic excellence.

The discussion addressed several key topics, including successful models of collaboration in joint research initiatives, educational infrastructure development, and industry-informed academic program design. Participants also highlighted the importance of experiential learning opportunities, internships, governance frameworks, long-term sustainability, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure lasting and measurable impact.

During his presentation, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi highlighted Galala University’s experience as one of Egypt’s leading fourth-generation smart universities. He showcased the university’s achievements in establishing strategic partnerships with local and international institutions and industry leaders, contributing to the development of innovative academic and research programs and preparing graduates with the skills and knowledge required for the future workforce.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi emphasized that participation in this international event provided a valuable platform for exchanging expertise and best practices with global decision-makers, university leaders, and representatives of international organizations. He noted that effective collaboration between universities and the public and private sectors has become a fundamental pillar for advancing higher education systems and supporting sustainable development objectives.

He further affirmed that Galala University remains committed to expanding cooperation with partners at both the national and international levels to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research while delivering a comprehensive educational experience that responds to the evolving needs of society and the labor market.
