As part of Suez Governorate’s efforts to follow up on major development and educational institutions and maximize their contribution to serving residents, supporting development and investment, and advancing Egypt’s vision for comprehensive development, Major General Hany Rashad, Governor of Suez, visited Galala University to review its educational, academic, and community-focused activities.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, welcomed the Governor, who was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Eissa, Former Minister and Vice Chairman of Galala University’s Board of Trustees; Major General Dr. Eng. Mahmoud Fekry; Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, Chairman of the Housing Committee at the House of Representatives; and Dr. Mohamed Allam, Deputy Governor of Suez.
The visit began with a presentation featuring a documentary on Galala University’s establishment, faculties, academic and research activities, as well as its efforts in community service and contribution to development in Suez Governorate and the Canal Region.
During the meeting, the Governor stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation and coordination between Suez Governorate and Galala University in ways that directly enhance services provided to citizens. He also highlighted the University’s important community role in supporting the people of Suez.
Discussions addressed several areas of cooperation, including opportunities for university students to receive training at hospitals in Suez, as well as the continuation and organization of medical and awareness campaigns for residents. These initiatives aim to support the healthcare system and strengthen the University’s community engagement.
The Governor also toured the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, where he visited laboratories and lecture halls and reviewed the educational facilities and resources available to students.
As part of the tour, the Governor visited Galala University’s dormitories, where he reviewed the accommodation facilities and services provided to students and staff. He praised the quality of the accommodation and the services provided, highlighting the University’s efforts to offer a comfortable and supportive living environment for members of the GU community.
The Governor noted that Galala University has become one of Egypt’s major educational institutions, adding that its presence within Suez Governorate provides distinguished educational opportunities for local students and helps reduce the need to travel to other governorates for higher education.
The Governor reaffirmed Suez Governorate’s full support for continued cooperation with Galala University across educational, medical, and community fields, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships that contribute to sustainable development and serve the people of Suez in line with Egypt’s vision for comprehensive development.
