Biography

Dr. Dina Fekry is the program director of Interior Architecture – Field of Art and Design – Galala University. Dr. Dina’s vision is to advance design excellence in an evolving global environment, promoting human health and wellness, and cultivating responsibility to society, the environment, and the profession.

She believes in her mission to prepare the next generation of interior design professionals to shape the quality and condition of human experience in the built environment through design excellence, and to provide academic leadership through the scholarship of teaching and learning, design research, and commitment to advancing the profession. As a Lecturer, She joined many prominent educational institutions such as Faculty of Applied Arts – Helwan University, Department of Interior Design & Furniture – Ahram Canadian University, and Department of Interior Design & Furniture – October 6 University.

Dr. Dina participated in multiple conferences with more than 25 research that have been published in national & international journals. In addition, Dr. Dina participated in multiple national projects & events like Golden Parade, Kunooz City for Marble and Granite, People’s Square in the New Administrative Capital.

Dr. Dina’s proposed idea chosen as the winning design to be showcased on the concrete blocks on the route of the Golden Parade.

Projects

  • Designed and executed the artwork on the concrete blocks in Simone Bolivar Street, Downtown Cairo in Tahrir Square as part of the coordination of the Golden Parade, during which twenty-two mummies belonging to Kings and Queens of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt were moved from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat- 2020.
  • Co-designed and supervised the execution of the external exhibition of Kunooz City for Marble and Granite, commissioned by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority 2020.
  • Co-designed and submitted an urban design concept proposal to the site of the People’s Square in the New Administrative Capital, as commissioned by the Engineering Authority for the Armed Forces 2021.

  • Established a digital library for pre-master’s level students that includes a list of graduate studies; a guide for postgraduate studies; a research plan for the completed scientific theses and those not yet been completed.
  • Member of the Supervisory Committee for Students of the Interior Design and Furniture Department- Faculty of Applied Arts- Helwan University; participating in the “Interior Design with Natural Stones”
  • competition under the auspices of Marmomac Company and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and SMEs December 2016.
  • Member of the Organizing Committee for the participation of students of the Interior Design and Furniture Department- Faculty of Applied Arts- Helwan University in “FURNEX EGYPT 2017″ February 2017.
  • Participated in the organization of the second popular heritage forum at the College of Applied Arts February 19, 2017.
