Galala University discusses cooperation with Kyushu University

As Galala University endeavors to finalize more international cooperation agreements with various partners from various international institutions and universities, the University held an online webinar with the Japanese Kyushu University, with faculty members' participation and university students' involvement across multiple fields of study.

This webinar was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of Galala University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, Acting Vice President for International Relations, Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Tarek Abou El-Maaty, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The webinar witnessed interactive participation and interaction from both sides.  Kyushu University was represented by Dr. Kono Yoshinoki, Vice President of the University, and Dr. Tamer Nasr, Director of Kyushu University Office in Cairo & Doctor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Helwan University. As for Galala University, the list of speakers included: Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of the University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed El -Shenawi, Acting Vice President for International Relations, Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Tamer Badawi, Assistant Professor in the field of dentistry and a member of the International Relations Committee at Galala University. Dr. Gad El-Kady, Former Cultural Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo and Head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, also joined the webinar. 

Galala University is a fourth-generation smart-university that promotes the pillars of education, which meet the advanced modern technological era through pioneering research, outstanding teaching, and cooperating with many academic societies communities that foster a common international perspective.


Dr. El-Shenawi expressed his happiness with this fruitful cooperation, saying, “There are wide fields of academic exchange programs and areas of constructive cooperation between Japan and Egypt. The two countries are always looking for opportunities to enhance friendship and mutual understanding between both sides and enhance the spirit of international cooperation. One of the leading sectors which provides a great potential for a long-term international cooperation between the two countries is the education sector, given that Japan is one of the leading countries in educational reform over years and ages." Based on this remarkable transformation that Japan has witnessed and Galala University's endeavor to continue pitching long-term cooperation agreements with the most famous educational institutions worldwide, Galala University contacted Kyushu University, which welcomed joining the webinar and the long-term academic cooperation. 

The two sides discussed future cooperation methods in various topics such as scientific research, especially that Galala University is about to launch the Galala Academy for Scientific Research to be a global and regional destination for scientific research and summer training student exchange programs. As per the J-MENA project, the Egyptian-Japanese scientific research offers opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa; therefore, there will be study opportunities in Japan for Galala University alumni at Kyushu University campus, especially in the field of dentistry. Furthermore, Kyushu officials gave a full overview of how-to live-in Japan.

At the end of the webinar, Dr. Al-Shenawi stressed the fact that Galala University is not just looking for traditional partnerships, but rather real opportunities for scientific exchange at all levels, saying, “There is no doubt that this cooperation helps to achieve the University's vision, through the graduation of scientifically competent alumni,  capable of building our society, through focusing on enhancing the methods of education, practical and theoretical activities, academic curricula, promotion of scientific dialogue and exchange of experiences across all fields, in addition to strengthening the academic and functional relations between the two sides.
