Galala University welcomes the committee of the “Supreme Council of Universities" to start activating the accreditation of the Information Technology Training and Continuous Development Unit at the university. Galala University is the first Egyptian university to implement the Certificate of the Foundation of Digital Transformation for undergraduate students
Prof. DR. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of Galala University, signed a cooperation protocol with Prof. Dr. Mohamed Latif, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, to establish the University's Electronic, Knowledge and Training Services Center,and the Information Technology Training and Continuous Development Unit,"Information Technology and Electronic Examinations Center", to train and award certificates of the Foundation of Digital Transformation to the university undergraduate students.
The Supreme Council of Universities Committee is chaired by Dr. Muhammad Hassan Gadallah, Director of the Central Training Unit of the Supreme Council of Universities, with the membership of each of Dr. Khaled Fouad, Director of the Administrative Information Systems Unit,Dr. Rasha Badri, Director of the Laboratories and Research Equipment Bank Unit at the Council, Dr. Omar Salem, Consultant of the Administrative Information Systems and Decision Support Unit at the Council, and Eng. Ashraf Naguib at the Egyptian Universities Network at the Supreme Council of Universities.
In welcoming the committee was Prof. Dr. Tareq Abou Elmaaty, Acting Vice President of Galala University for Academic Affairs,Eng. Yasser Kazem, Acting Secretary-General of Galala University, Prof. Ibrahim Fathy Moawad, Program Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program at the University, and Prof. Afaf Al-Awfi Professor of Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering at the University.
Prof.Dr. Tareq Abou Elmaaty pointed that this visit is a step to implement the accreditation of Galala University as the first Egyptian university to offer a certificate of the Foundation of Digital Transformation for undergraduate students. He thanked all the university employees for their efforts, during the last period, to provide the necessary infrastructure and technology based on international standards, stressing that these efforts are integrated towards the university’s plan to transform into a fourth-generation smart university.
During the visit, Dr. Ibrahim Moawad, Program Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, and the supervisor of the unit, took the committee members on a tour inside the university campus, to present the most important steps that the university relies on in its various sectors as a digital university which include an Internet infrastructure and highly equipped laboratories.
It is worth noting that this protocol was signed, according to the directives of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in order to achieve the Ministry's strategy of 2030, in the field of digital transformation and to keep pace with the fourth industrial revolution
