GUSSS Club

Club Mission

Our mission is to offer future physicians a comprehensive introduction to global health issues and create a capable conscious physician equipped with the ability to deal appropriately with a variety of situations and the most extracurricular skills critical to be tomorrow’s life savers, as well as to raise awareness in various life aspects to preserve a healthy existence for present and future generations.

Objectives

The organization’s purpose is to serve the community of medical students as well as the general population on various levels by:

  • Empowering medical students to take advantage of their comprehension and endowments for the benefit of society.
  • Providing a venue for medical students to debate subjects relating to individual and public health, education, and science with their peers from other Egyptian institutions, as well as many other nationalities, and to create policies based on such debates.
  • Projects and extracurricular training for medical students, thereby exposing them to health problems on their own as well as other cultures and societies.
  • Providing a link between members, medical students’ organizations in Egypt, and worldwide organizations, to enhance the collaboration between them for the ultimate benefit of society.
  • Exchange programs for Galala University medical students which facilitates professional and research exchanges.

Activities & Events

GUSSS was officially upgraded to Associates Membership within IFMSA-Egypt which will enable us to work on Research, and Professional Medical Students Exchange.

GUSSS attended 15 National General Assemblies within IFMSA-Egypt, where GU medical students were represented between medical students all over Egypt.

GUSSS was represented internationally in Turkey by attending international general assembly within IFMSA and Japan by facilitating workshops within IFMSA-Japan.

GUSSS members attended various international workshops in various topics (Public Health, Mental Health, Human Rights, Reproductive Rights, and Medical Education) and graduated as international IFMSA trainers.

GUSSS collaborated with various clubs within GU (The Red Crescent, Media Club, and Art club), creating a space for all GU students to work together and get to know each other.

GUSSS members participated as trainers and organizers in various GU and other national medical events (UCHID Conference, Development Week, and GU Kids Camp)

Target Members

GUSSS membership is open to all medical students in Galala University or House officers at Galala University hospital.

How to Join?

Any GU medical student is welcome to join our club at the start of the academic term through our annual recruitment campaign, launched at the beginning of each academic year. Registration is completed via our official registration form, which is updated annually and shared on our media platforms to reflect current membership data and ensure accurate member data collection.
