Bio

Ibrahim Fathy Moawad is a full professor of Artificial Intelligence at Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Ain Shams University, Egypt. He is a member of the National Council for Egyptian Artificial Intelligence, which was established in 2019 by the decision of the Prime Minister. He is a member of the national committee that prepared Egypt's strategic plan for Artificial Intelligence (2020-2025).

Professor Moawad is the Former Secretary of Information Technology Sector Committee, Supreme Council of Universities (SCU), Egypt. He is the Former Secretary of Cultural Relations Committee, Supreme Council of Universities (SCU), Egypt. He was the principal investigator of Ain Shams university for the international BioDialog project with Jena university – Germany, Assuit university – Egypt, and Safex university – Tunisia, the project was funded by the DAAD organization.

Professor Moawad is the Author and Co-author for more than 60 academic articles in international journals and conferences. He is a referee for many highly ranked international journals and conferences such as the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing. Also, he is the author of the “A Framework for Multi-Agent Diagnosis System: Argumentation-based Negotiation Technique for Belief Conflict Resolution" book.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc in 2005, 2000 and 1995 respectively, Department of Systems and computers Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar university.
  • Scientific degree research areas were in Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Agent System, Machine Learning, and Data Mining.

  • Appreciation Certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt. In its regular session dated 14-3-2019, the Supreme Council of Universities appreciated the great efforts exerted during applying the online exams for all medicine faculties.
  • International publication award, Ain Shams University (2017) as a result of publishing in a highly ranked journal.
  • Information and Knowledge Management  Award (Prof. Shawqy Salam Award 2013): Awarded from academy of scientific research and technology, the ministry of scientific research affairs, Egypt.
  • Best paper award of the 2012 International Conference on Computer Engineering and Systems (ICCES'2012), IEEE, Egypt.

Professor Moawad supervised more than 30 MSc and PhD theses at Ain Shams, Benha, Fayoum, and Helwan Universities.
