General Accountant

*Job Summary

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

*Typical Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures an accurate & timely month, quarter & year-end closing and providing all necessary regular & irregular analyses.

· Prepare monthly needed financial reports to related managers / departments.

· Ensure a clean & timely year-end audit and assist with financial audits, prepare audit schedules, and interface with auditors.

· Responsible for preparing and distributing timely, accurate financial statements and all Analytical reports related and non-related to the financial statements.

· Ensure reconciliation of inter-company accounts and rectification of reconciling items.

· Ensure that all the financial transactions are properly accounted for in General Ledger and in the correct cost and profit centres.

· Handling intercompany cost allocations and Prepare Cash reports.

· Maintaining accurate revenue and cost recognition databases.

· Ensure all month-end entries are passed in the system like pre-payments, accruals, etc.

· Collecting and analysing data about a company’s operational costs

· Setting standard costs of university programs.

· Developing and analysing cost standards

· Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.

· Performing account reconciliations

· Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management

· Recommending changes to the university processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit

· Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data

· Managing the company’s balance sheet and accounting books

· Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

Requirements & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.

· 3-5 Years of relevant experience.

· Excellent in Microsoft office.

· Strong understanding of setting up and organizing databases and spreadsheets.
