Bio

Dr. Rasha is a molecular microbiologist with more than ten years’ diagnostic, research and teaching experience across Egypt & the USA. She has obtained her M.B.Ch.B degree and MSc degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, Egypt. She has been competitively awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship to pursue her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. Her doctoral and postdoctoral research in the USA aimed at unraveling the epigenetic and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms governing Hepatitis B virus (HBV) biosynthesis to identify a radical cure for HBV.

Dr. Rasha has published and presented her research in multiple reputable international journals, conferences and symposia as the CSHL meeting and the International HBV meeting. She has also served in director-level positions for various research labs in both governmental and private research centers.

Dr. Rasha’s current research is focused on investigating the molecular mechanisms governing virus-host interactions.
