Regional Forum for open science in the Arab Region

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO, in cooperation with UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States in Cairo is launching the First Regional Forum for Open Science in the Arab States on September 21 & 22, 2021. Galala University has the honor to host the Forum under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of Galala University, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abou Elmaaty, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, Acting Vice President for International Cooperation, Community Services, and Environmental Development.
All scientists, researchers, academics, software developers, youth representatives, publishers, and civil society representatives are invited to participate in this forum which seeks to make science more open, accessible, and effective.
The main objective of the sessions is to identify common challenges, share best practices and develop practical measures for the success of the Open Science Project in the Arab States in order to achieve effective sustainable human development. An exhibition will be organized in parallel to the forum where the participating parties will have the chance to display their scientific products, including publications, books, researches, and inventions.
