Professor Salma Dowara holds M.B.B.Ch, MS, MD in General Surgery from Cairo University. Professor Dowara received a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education from Dundee University, UK. Also she is an International Certified Trainer (CT) and Human Resource (HR) Counselor/ Developer from the International Board for Certifying Trainers (IBCT) in February 2008.

Professor Dowara is an Emeritus Professor of General Surgery-Cairo University since 2013 till now. She was the founder and former head of General Surgery Department-Army Forced College of Medicine (AFCM) till 2019.
