Technology of Anesthesia & Intensive Care Program is a specialized program, which enables the graduate to work under the supervision of anesthesiologists. The graduate can also deal with anesthesia and intensive care equipment, maintain them, identify the defects which may happen and repair them and can ask help from bioengineers in difficult problems. Thus, he/she can help and act as a link between doctors of anesthesia and intensive care in one side and engineers of medical equipment.He/she can communicate efficiently with other medical team members with respect to medical ethics.

- Describe the human anatomy, physiology and biophysics.
- Identify physical and medical conditions that may put the patient at risk during anesthesia.
Potential Job Opportunities
Anesthesia and intensive care technologists are integral members of the health care team. Their role is to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of various equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia . Job responsibilities may include equipment maintenance and servicing such as cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and recording of inspections. In addition, the anesthesia and intensive care technologists will assist licensed anesthesia providers in assessments, evaluations, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management. This may be performed in a variety of clinical settings such as:
- The operating room.
- Interventional and diagnostic radiology.
- Post anesthesia care unit.
- Intensive care unit.
- Emergency room.
