Galala University Hosts National Policy Dialogue on Digital Teaching and Learning
In January 2023, Galala University convened a high-level national policy dialogue entitled “Digital Teaching and Learning,” bringing together education policymakers, scholars, technology experts and university leaders to chart the future of teaching in the digital age. The event focused on transforming higher-education delivery through advanced e-learning platforms, hybrid classrooms, virtual labs and adaptive learning technologies that respond to changing student needs and global trends.
During the dialogue, participants discussed the challenges of digital infrastructure, ensuring equitable access to online education across different regions, preparing faculty for digital pedagogy, and safeguarding student data and privacy in a digital learning environment. They explored strategic solutions such as interactive learning tools, AI-driven tutoring systems, gamified learning environments and immersive virtual reality applications to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
A major outcome of the event was a call for stronger collaboration between universities, ed-tech firms and government agencies to develop national frameworks for digital instruction, faculty training programs, and robust quality assurance mechanisms tailored for digital learning. Galala University underscored its commitment to these goals, aligning with Egypt’s educational transformation agenda and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on quality education, innovation and partnerships.
