Program Overview

A bachelor’s degree in computer information systems (CIS) helps you develop the knowledge and skills needed to leverage technology used in any business or organization – a skill that’s valued across a wide range of industries. Your CIS degree can support careers in fields like systems analysis, business applications programming, business database design and decision support across public, private, nonprofit and government entities worldwide.

A dual bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Arizona State University and Galala University is the best choice for future professionals seeking to achieve efficient and effective management of organizations by leveraging technology and applying the appropriate computer systems – a skill that is highly valued across a wide range of industries. Students will learn about the exciting and innovative ways that information technology is used to help these organizations succeed.

What is a bachelor’s in computer information systems?

The curriculum of a computer information systems degree focuses on using information technology to enable positive business outcomes. This includes everything from developing more effective operational strategies to identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improving the customer experience. You’ll also learn how to engage with key stakeholders, like staff, employees, suppliers and government officials. As you earn this degree, you can expect to learn how to design, build and maintain information systems that support business operations and managerial decision-making.

You’ll also build an understanding of how using technology can lead to better results for organizations. Developing this perspective is a key differentiator for the degree. This sort of view can support a common need to serve as a liaison between colleagues who focus on business and those whose duties revolve around technology.

Is there demand for graduates with a CIS degree in the workforce?

There is a high demand for professionals in this field, not only for business organizations in the private or international sectors but also for Egyptian governmental organizations.  In alignment with Egypt Vision 2030, and all the efforts embarked by the Ministry of Communication and Technology (MCIT) to build ‘Digital Egypt’, the CIS degree will equip its graduates with all needed skills to be effective contributors in the digital transformation of Egypt.
