Galala University Highlights Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Pharmaceuticals

Galala University continues to pioneer in applied learning and entrepreneurship within the pharmaceutical sector with its recent event titled “Made in GU: Pharma Startup Journey.” This initiative, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, aimed to foster innovation and practical skills among students in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The event showcased over twenty-five innovative projects, including creams, lotions, powders, toothpastes, mouthwashes, syrups, and eye/ear drops. These projects not only demonstrated exceptional creativity but also highlighted a profound understanding of both technical and commercial aspects of drug production.

Professor Dr. Amira Abdel Motaal, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed her pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing the faculty’s commitment to nurturing a conducive educational environment that encourages creative thinking and practical innovation. She reiterated Galala University’s dedication to preparing students to excel in global pharmaceutical and cosmetics markets.

Under the supervision of Dr. Ali Nasr, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, the event emphasized bridging theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, promoting teamwork, and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students. Dr. Nasr highlighted the event’s role in enhancing students’ practical skills and preparing them for successful careers in the pharmaceutical sector.

Looking forward, the Faculty of Pharmacy plans to expand this initiative in the coming years, incorporating interdisciplinary projects to foster collaboration between faculties and broaden students’ opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship within Galala University.
