Galala University Graduate Wins First Place at Falling Labs Competition – Heads to Berlin for International Finals

Galala University is proud to announce that Mohamed Mounir, a graduate of the Molecular Biotechnology Program, Class of 2024–2025, has achieved first place in the Falling Labs Competition, organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and held at the Goethe-Institut in Cairo.

Mohamed impressed the jury with his innovative idea and exceptional presentation skills, earning him the opportunity to represent Egypt at the International Falling Walls Competition, scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, this November. Falling Walls is a globally recognized platform that celebrates scientific breakthroughs and visionary thinking, where participants pitch their ideas in just three minutes to an international audience of experts and innovators.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the outstanding quality of education, mentorship, and innovation-driven mindset fostered within the Molecular Biotechnology Program at Galala University. It also highlights the caliber of our students and their ability to compete — and win — on international platforms.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating,

“Mohamed’s success not only brings honor to Galala University but also places Egyptian innovation on the global map. We are confident he will shine in Berlin and continue to make meaningful contributions to the scientific community.”

We extend our warmest congratulations to Mohamed Mounir and wish him the best of success as he prepares to represent Egypt and Galala University in Berlin.
