Galala University Celebrates the Graduation of Its Second Cohort – Class of 2025

Galala University proudly celebrated the graduation of its second cohort for the Class of 2025 in a grand ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hanno, Minister of Culture; Major General Tarek El Shazly, Governor of Suez and member of the University’s Board of Trustees; as well as Board members led by Dr. Ashraf Hatem. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of public figures, academic leaders, community representatives, and the university’s strategic partners, who joined students and their families in celebrating this momentous occasion.

The ceremony began with an introductory video showcasing Galala University’s world-class academic programs and impactful community initiatives that align with SDG 4: Quality Education, followed by a documentary film titled “The Legacy Lives On,” paying tribute to the late Eng. Sherif Ismail, the university’s first Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Tarek Abou El Maati, its first Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. Another short film, “The Journey Begins,” documented the students’ inspiring path from their first day at GU to their proud graduation moment.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, expressed his pride in the graduating class, saying:

“Today we celebrate the culmination of teamwork and continuous effort by our faculty, staff, and students. Our graduates are the ambassadors of Galala University to the world, and we are confident they will make meaningful contributions to society and the labor market locally, regionally, and globally.”

His words underscored the university’s alignment with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, as Galala University continues to empower its graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a competitive global economy.

Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President of the University, added:

“We have strived to provide an integrated learning experience that combines academic excellence, personal development, and continuous support to prepare a generation capable of leadership and innovation.”

Meanwhile, Prof. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized that Galala University has become a pioneering model in Egypt’s national university system, stating:

“Today we witness the success of the vision upon which this university was founded—one that nurtures talent and inclusivity to serve the future of Egypt.”

His remarks reflect SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, as the university’s inclusive educational model ensures equal opportunities for students from all backgrounds.

During the ceremony, H.E. Prof. Ahmed Hanno, Minister of Culture, recalled his earlier role as Vice President for Student Affairs at Galala University, expressing great pride in witnessing its remarkable progress:

“It fills me with great joy to see this university, which I helped establish in its early days, now standing tall and producing generations of innovators, thinkers, and leaders.”

The celebration also included honoring the top-performing graduates, awarding certificates, and capturing memorable moments with families amid fireworks and joy. The participation of government representatives, industry leaders, and academic partners during the event embodied SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, showcasing Galala University’s commitment to collaborative efforts that drive sustainable development and national progress.

The ceremony concluded with an atmosphere of pride and accomplishment, marking another milestone in Galala University’s journey as one of Egypt’s leading national universities. Through education, innovation, and collaboration, GU continues to empower future leaders who will shape a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world.
