Galala University Students Showcase Sustainability and Creativity at COP27

Galala University (GU) is proud to participate in the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. This participation reflects the university’s strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and environmental awareness.

A highlight of GU’s participation is the eco-friendly booth entirely designed and constructed by GU students from the Faculty of Art & Design and the Faculty of Architecture. Using only recycled materials, the students creatively transformed their vision for a sustainable future into a tangible representation of the university’s values and green philosophy.

Through this initiative, Galala University aims to raise awareness about the urgent issue of climate change and the importance of adopting sustainable practices that protect the planet. The project also emphasizes the role of youth as key drivers of environmental transformation, capable of turning awareness into action through design, research, and innovation.

By engaging students in projects that align with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GU continues to strengthen its position as a Green Campus and a leader in promoting sustainability within higher education.
