Biography

Dr. Ahmed is a highly accomplished academic with a strong background in Chemistry, particularly in the fields of Colloid Chemistry, Nanotechnology, and Molecular Electronics. His academic journey began with a remarkable achievement, earning a B.Sc. in Chemistry with distinction and honours in 2006, where he graduated at the top of his class.

Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Ahmed completed his M.Sc. in Colloid Chemistry & Nanotechnology at Minia University, Egypt, in 2011. His master’s degree provided him with a solid foundation in advanced chemistry concepts and specialized knowledge in nanotechnology.

Driven by his passion for research and academic excellence, Dr. Ahmed furthered his education by pursuing a Ph.D. degree at Osaka University, Japan. Under the guidance of Professor Takuji Ogawa, he specialized in nanomaterial science and molecular electronics, earning his Ph.D. degree in 2016.

Following the completion of his doctoral studies, Dr. Ahmed was appointed as a Faculty Fellow (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Chemistry at Osaka University, where he further honed his expertise and contributed to cutting-edge research initiatives.

Currently, Dr. Ahmed holds dual positions as an Assistant Professor (lecturer) at the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Galala University, Egypt, and at Minia University, Egypt. His dedication to academia and his multidisciplinary expertise make him a valuable asset to both institutions.

Dr. Ahmed’s research interests and contributions span a wide range of topics within the realm of Chemistry, including nanomaterial synthesis, molecular electronics, and colloid chemistry. His impressive academic background, combined with his passion for teaching and research, positions him as a respected scholar and educator in the field of Chemistry.

  • Principle Investigator (PI) of a Research Project of Osaka University’s International Joint Research Promotion Program (3rd call), Japan, entitled as “Studies on the structure and properties of porphyrin based single-molecule magnets on single walled carbon nanotube supramolecules” with total grant of 2,178,934 Japanese Yen (around 18.000 US $) (April – August 2019).
  • Researcher of granted project (ID: 46297) from the Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), Egypt,entitled as “Lightweight and anti-corrosion composite coatings for sustainable oil & gas pipelines” within the framework of the Applied Sciences Research Grants, with total grant of 1,378,260 Egyptian Pound (around 75.000 US $) for 1.5 year.
