Associate Professor
Dr. Gomaa Ali brings 16 years of expertise to the field of materials science, with a focus on areas such as humidity sensing, graphene, supercapacitors, water treatment, and drug delivery. He earned his Ph.D. in Advanced Nanomaterials for Energy Storage from UMP, Malaysia, and has received numerous national and international awards, including the ARSCO Award 2022, TWAS-AREP (2018), Obada International Prize (2021), and Arab Water Council Award 2022.
His remarkable contributions have earned him recognition, including being listed in Stanford University’s List of World’s Top 2% of Scientists for Egypt from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Gomaa has authored over 150 articles and 30 book chapters, accumulating more than 5758 citations and achieving an h-index of 47. He serves as an editor for several international journals and reviews manuscripts for over 100 WoS journals.
Dr. Gomaa is an active member of various national and international scientific societies, including TWAS Affiliate, AAS Affiliate, American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Egyptian Young Academy of Sciences, ASRT. He has also contributed as an editor to several handbooks, including “Waste Recycling Technologies for Nanomaterials Manufacturing” (Springer, 2021), “Handbook of Biodegradable Materials” (Springer, 2022), and “Handbook of Nanosensors” (Springer, 2023).
