Music is one of the most enjoyable forms of art that anyone can participate in, whether they sing, play an instrument, or just listen. The Music Program at GU combines technical, cognitive, and motor skills that include performance, singing and basic music composition styles. It depends on a group of courses that enable the student to take part in local, regional, and international Music forums. The program also combines the study of Arabic and Western Music over the course of different eras, with a focus on contemporary approaches to music genres. The music program is characterized by offering group activities for all departments at GU campus, aiming at developing the musical artistical sense, as well as the communal practice.

Learning Outcomes

Students of GU’s Music Program will be able to:  

  1. Know the principles of music notation.
  2. Identify the principles of organizing sounds vertically (harmonization)
  3. Learn about the Arabic and Western Music principles and theories and various approaches in the Western and Arabic music eras.
  4. Acknowledge the basics of Arabic and Western music analysis.
  5. Skillfully perform music pieces that are different in style; whether traditional or contemporary.
  6. Perform and sing new music pieces utilizing music production software.
  7. Perform on a stage and communicate to the audience.
  8. Master public performance skills.
  9. Positively participate in group performance through University ensembles.

  • Admission administrative fees(To  be paid once on the admission’s semester): 6,500 EGP
