Biography

Dr. Mahmoud Safwat Hamid obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Communications Department at the Military Technical College, Cairo, Egypt, in 1993. He pursued his MSc in the Electronic Engineering Department at the same institution, graduating in 1998. Continuing his academic journey, Dr. Mahmoud earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Strathclyde University, UK, in 2004.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mahmoud has demonstrated a commitment to academic mentorship, supervising and co-supervising numerous MSc and PhD students to successful completion. His research interests primarily lie in the field of image and video processing, particularly with applications in medical imaging. Additionally, he focuses on implementing image processing algorithms on embedded systems, contributing to advancements in both theoretical understanding and practical applications within the field.
