Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hanno is an accomplished academic and leader in art and design. He currently holds the positions of Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Art and DProf. Dr. Ahmed Hanno is an accomplished academic and leader in art and design. He currently holds the positions of Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at Galala University.

With an impressive educational background, Prof. Hanno completed his Ph.D. in Art Philosophy, specializing in visual communication and animation film creativity. He pursued this degree with the support of a scholarship from the German Exchange Program DAAD at Kassel University, Germany. Before that, Dr. Hanno earned a Master’s in Experimental Animation Films from Cairo University, Egypt. He started his academic journey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Art & Design, focusing on Illustration and Animation Film, graduating with top honours from Cairo University.

 

Biography

Prof. Hanno’s professional journey has been equally remarkable. He has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Cairo–Helwan University and held the role of Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research at the same University. His academic career includes achieving the rank of Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphic Department, Cairo, Egypt, and directing the Restoration Unit for Antique Photographs and Paper. He also played a pivotal role in establishing a Joint Master’s Program between Helwan University and Catania University with support from the Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Italy. His dedication to education was evident as he founded the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hanno’s contributions extend beyond the academic realm. He has actively participated in various committees and boards related to art, education, and culture, including chairing the State Art Annual Prize Selective Committee of the High Cultural Council, Ministry of Culture. He has also served as a referee and evaluator for committees and councils associated with higher education and cultural heritage. Prof. Hanno has conducted extensive research and organized training courses, further enriching his field. His creative talents encompass directing and designing animated TV series, short films, TV ads, songs, and video clips in Egypt and the Middle East. He has also been crucial in supervising numerous theses and research projects, contributing significantly to developing graphic design, media, industrial design, book arts, and animation. Prof. Hanno’s unwavering commitment to education, research, and the arts continues to impact his field and inspire others profoundly.
