Designing More Efficient and Effective Experiments for Researchers

Tues 10 September to Wednes 11 September Or Tues 24 September to Wednes 25 September
Workshop Code (C9)

Designing More Efficient and Effective Experiments for Researchers

In this dynamic and practical workshop, participants will gain valuable insights into achieving breakthrough improvements through the effective use of design of experiments (DOE) techniques. Start by mastering factorial designs to pinpoint crucial factors that demand your attention amidst numerous variables. Uncover often overlooked interactions that prove pivotal for success. Efficiently utilize modern small-run designs to conserve time and resources in experimentation. Progress from factorials to response surface methods for optimizing products and processes. Finally, tie it all together by mastering powerful ANOVA analysis methods, instilling confidence in your findings.

Day-1

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: A review of the basics of practical statistical tools needed to succeed using the design of experiments
  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Learn the four steps used to plan effective design of experiments (DOE’s)
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Hands-on activity: Learn how to analyze a factorial experiment – Additional case studies are used to reinforce the analysis techniques

Day-2

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Presents an array of RSM designs to choose from – central composite, Box-Behnken and optimal (custom). Learn when each design excels
  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Learn how to get the most out of your response surface method (RSM) design by following a few key analysis steps
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Break
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Discover how diagnostics confirm your model’s validity – Learn how lack of fit and various R-squared measures characterize the polynomial model
