Galala University Hosts a Scientific Webinar on COVID-19 with Nottingham Trent University
As part of its commitment to raising scientific awareness and promoting research-based understanding of global health challenges, Galala University’s Field of Advanced Basic Sciences, headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan El-Dessouky, hosted an insightful webinar delivered by Prof. Yasser El-Sherbiny, Senior Lecturer of Immunology and Biomedical Sciences at Nottingham Trent University, UK.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of Galala University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, Acting Vice President for International Affairs, Community Service, and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Tarek Abouelmaaty, Acting Vice President for Students’ Affairs.
This webinar was part of GU’s ongoing series of educational and scientific sessions designed to engage both the GU community and the public in critical discussions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. These sessions, organized in collaboration with national and international partners, reflect the university’s dedication to knowledge exchange and public health education.
During his lecture, Prof. El-Sherbiny explored multiple dimensions of the pandemic, including the immunological mechanisms of the virus, the latest approaches to treatment, and scientific predictions regarding its future impact. His insights, supported by the most recent research findings, provided attendees with a deeper understanding of how global efforts in science and healthcare continue to combat the evolving virus.
This initiative reinforces GU’s role as a knowledge-driven institution that connects science, innovation, and public awareness — ensuring that education serves both academic progress and community wellbeing.
