Galala University Hosts Portuguese Ambassador to Strengthen International Academic Collaboration
Galala University had the distinct honor of welcoming H.E. Manuela Franco, the Portuguese Ambassador to Egypt, for an official visit aimed at fostering educational and scientific cooperation. The ambassador was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, GU’s Acting President, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abou Elmaaty, Acting VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rana Zeidan, Secretary General, and the university’s deans.
The visit focused on developing an educational cluster between Galala University and leading Portuguese universities, opening pathways for student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and joint academic initiatives. Special emphasis was placed on scientific research in technology, nanoscience, engineering, and medicine, aligning with GU’s vision of advancing innovation and global academic excellence.
This collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening international partnerships, providing GU students and staff with opportunities for cross-cultural learning, exposure to global best practices, and participation in cutting-edge research projects.
