Speakers addressed topics such as deep-water drilling, enhanced oil recovery, the role of natural gas in the energy mix, and the need for decarbonization and carbon-capture technologies amid rising global expectations for clean energy.
Discussions underscored how new hydrocarbon finds can support national economic growth, job creation, and energy security — but also how they must be balanced against ecological impacts, greenhouse-gas emissions and the imperative to invest in renewable energy infrastructure.
