Celebrating the International Day of Radiology, GU’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Radiology and Medical Imaging Program, organized a two-day event, themed “Imaging Excellence: Celebrating Technological Triumphs,”. The event aimed at exploring the forefront of medical imaging.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, the university president, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hanno, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President of Galala University for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Adel El-Gad, the faculty Dean, alongside Dr. Hend Galal Eldeen, the program director, attended the opening session. Notable companies like Philips Egypt and iMed Healthineers led the day with enriching sessions and interactive workshops, providing students with a comprehensive insight into the latest trends in radiology. During the iMed Healthineers’ competition, students won valuable prizes and fully funded internships.
Day two maintained the educational momentum, with Fujifilm Healthcare and Siemens Healthineers showcasing their latest technologies. Major General Dr. Yasser Al-Sayed, Executive Director of Galala University Teaching Hospital and General Supervisor of the University’s Skills Training and Simulation Center, added a unique practical perspective, highlighting the role of radiology in various fields.
The Egyptian Red Crescent’s participation further underscored the practical applications of radiology. The event successfully bridged learning with professional development, a good way for networking and future collaborations.
