Galala University’s Faculty of Nursing Celebrates International Women’s Day with Inspiring Events and Activities

International Women’s Day is a global occasion to honor the achievements of women across all fields and shed light on their vital role in driving sustainable development and promoting social equity.

In celebration of this important day, the Faculty of Nursing at Galala University hosted a special event on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The celebration began with the inauguration of the Faculty’s first Student Activities Exhibition, where Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, accompanied by distinguished guests, toured the exhibition to explore the students’ scientific and artistic contributions.

The day’s agenda featured a rich series of lectures and activities addressing women’s health and social issues. Representatives from Baheya Hospital led an awareness session on the importance of psychological support for breast cancer warriors, including a powerful testimony from a survivor.

In continuation of the celebration, medical stations were set up for vital signs checkups and random blood sugar (RBS) testing. Students from the Faculties of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Medicine actively contributed by organizing educational sessions and distributing awareness brochures covering topics such as proper nutrition for diabetic patients, stress management techniques, early detection of breast cancer, and osteoporosis prevention.
The Faculty of Nursing extends its heartfelt appreciation to Suez Canal Bank for its generous support and meaningful presence, as well as to Baheya Hospital for its pioneering role in supporting women’s health and social issues—both of which enriched the event with significant humanitarian and educational value.

The celebration concluded with a special honoring ceremony recognizing outstanding students for their academic excellence and exceptional participation in student activities, reflecting the Faculty’s commitment to celebrating student success and creativity.
