Galala University Concludes the 2nd International Dental Conference (GIDC 2025)

Galala University successfully concluded the 2nd International Dental Conference (GIDC 2025), organized by the Faculty of Dentistry from September 17–19, 2025, under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of distinguished experts and specialists from around the world.

Held under the theme “Innovative Smiles… Changing Lives,” the conference showcased the latest scientific advancements in dentistry and modern technological applications. The program featured over 15 specialized workshops, 150 international speakers and experts, a large-scale exhibition of cutting-edge medical technologies and products, as well as student activities and scientific competitions.

The conference was honored by the presence of high-profile figures, including Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population; Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez; Major General Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai; Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of Galala University’s Board of Trustees; H.E. Sameh Shoukry, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the Board of Trustees; and Air Marshal Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Former Minister of Civil Aviation and Member of the Board of Trustees, along with several university presidents and leading academic figures.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University, emphasized that hosting the conference for the second consecutive year reflects the university’s growing role as a hub for scientific and knowledge exchange. He highlighted the university’s vision of becoming a pioneering model of a smart university that integrates education, research, and community service. He added that this year’s conference opened new horizons for dental research, contributing to the advancement of the healthcare system in Egypt and the region.

Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Conference Chair, stated that the event provided an exceptional platform for knowledge exchange between professors, experts, and students. He noted that the agenda addressed key topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment, as well as innovations in dental practice. He further stressed the Faculty’s commitment to continuous education and the development of dental professionals and researchers to keep pace with global advancements.

Dr. Moshira Dehba, Conference Secretary-General, expressed her pride in the outstanding scientific and organizational success of the conference, attributing it to the dedication of the scientific and organizing committees, along with the wide participation of experts and students. She affirmed that the second edition of GIDC was not only a scientific forum but also a comprehensive platform for academic and community engagement, embodying Galala University’s mission of bridging science and society.
