The 2025 parliamentary elections are being held nationwide in two phases, with voting for Egyptians abroad and at home conducted across November and early December, under the supervision of Egypt’s National Elections Authority.
Prof. Dr. Hatem’s win reflects the confidence placed in his leadership and his record of national service, and the Galala University community is proud to see him continue contributing at the highest levels of public life.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hatem is a distinguished professor of pulmonary medicine at Cairo University and a nationally recognized health and higher-education leader.
Over the course of his career, he has served Egypt in several high-impact roles, including as former Minister of Health and Population and as Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, where he contributed to advancing higher-education development and reform.
In parliament, he has also been widely noted for his work on health policy and public-service priorities.
