At Galala University, we remain committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and scientific discovery. In this spirit, the University takes great pride in the accomplishments of Teaching Assistant Rawan H. Abuelnile and Habiiba Ashraf Ragab, a recent fresh graduate, both from the Faculty of Science – Molecular Biotechnology program. The two scholars recently completed an intensive month of practical research training at the University of Johannesburg’s Laser Research Centre, one of Africa’s leading research hubs in advanced biomedical applications.

During their training, they engaged in cutting-edge research across Cancer Biology, Stem Cells, and Nanotechnology, with a specialized focus on Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and Photobiomodulation (PBM). Their work reflects a strong dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and exploring innovative therapeutic technologies that contribute to improving healthcare outcomes.

The program provided a unique opportunity for both researchers to apply their academic background in a real-world international research environment. Through direct involvement in laboratory experimentation and project development, they gained valuable technical and analytical skills while contributing to ongoing scientific investigations at the Centre.

Galala University extends its sincere appreciation to the University of Johannesburg for offering a world-class platform of mentorship, expertise, and state-of-the-art research facilities. This experience not only supported professional growth but also strengthened the role of international academic partnerships in shaping future scientists.

The University is proud of how its students and faculty continue to embrace global research opportunities, demonstrate resilience in advanced scientific settings, and represent Galala University with excellence. We look forward to seeing their future contributions to biotechnology and their continued impact on scientific advancement.
