Galala University successfully hosted the 1st Galala Student Research Conference (GSRC) on 15th February 2026. The full-day conference brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests to celebrate innovation, scientific inquiry, and academic excellence.
The event commenced with an Opening Ceremony led by university leadership, including Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University; Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Badry, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Dr. Radwa Ali, Conference Chairperson
The conference featured keynote speeches from prominent figures, including Prof. General Khaled Amer, Founding Dean of the Armed Forces College of Medicine and Head of the Egyptian Genome; Prof. Sunanda Holmes, Vice President and General Counsel at The American University in Cairo; Prof. Hani Mostafa, Director of the SDG Innovation Network Siemens and Industry 5.0 Chair Advisor at Galala University; and Mr. Mohammed Fathy, Program Coordinator at DAAD Regional Office, Cairo
Student research presentations were conducted across two main sessions, showcasing projects from multiple academic disciplines. More than 50 student teams presented their work before academic juries across several halls within the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. The presentations highlighted the depth of research engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration at the university.
In addition to the research sessions, the conference offered interactive workshops covering Medical Research & Literature Review, Systematic Review (Parts 1 & 2), Research Methodology & Study Design, and Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Design Thinking. These sessions provided participants with practical skills in research development, academic writing, and innovation.
The conference concluded with closing and final activities at Auditorium 1, marking a successful launch of what is set to become a cornerstone annual academic event at Galala University
Through GSRC, Galala University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a strong research culture, empowering students with hands-on academic experiences, and supporting innovation aligned with national and global development priorities.
