Galala University Hosts 1st Youth Conference for Universities on Entrepreneurship & the 2030 Agenda
Galala University convened its first Youth Conference for Universities in November 2021, centered on advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through entrepreneurship. The gathering brought together students, academics, and industry experts to explore how innovation, start-ups, and university–industry collaboration can translate sustainable ideas into real impact.
Across keynote talks, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants examined how entrepreneurial thinking can:
-
accelerate decent job creation and inclusive economic growth,
-
scale responsible production and green technologies,
-
strengthen innovation ecosystems within universities, and
-
embed social and environmental value in new ventures.
Conversations highlighted practical pathways—from incubator support and mentorship to access-to-market and finance—that help early-stage ideas grow into sustainable businesses. Speakers shared success stories and best practices illustrating how youth-led initiatives can reduce environmental footprints, improve community well-being, and contribute to national priorities such as Egypt Vision 2030.
The conference concluded by underscoring three priorities for the coming period:
-
integrating entrepreneurship and sustainability into curricula and co-curricular activities;
-
deepening partnerships among universities, industry, and civic organizations; and
-
enabling student founders with guidance, tools, and networks to pilot solutions addressing social and environmental challenges.
