Graduation Project Presentations – Faculty of Arts & Design 2025
Studios became galleries and critiques turned into conversations with industry as the Faculty of Arts & Design staged its Graduation Project Presentations—an end-of-year showcase that put interior design, fashion, visual communication, and advertising projects in front of Egypt’s creative decision-makers. The tone was clear from the first board pinned up: rigorous process, original concepts, and execution that’s ready for real audiences and real clients.
Across the halls, visitors moved from spatial narratives and wayfinding systems to capsule collections, brand systems, and campaign rollouts. Students were asked to “show the work behind the work”—user research, material choices, mock-ups, prototyping, and testing—before revealing final renders or runway looks. Many projects tackled live briefs from community and commercial contexts: adaptive reuse for small public venues; low-waste garment construction; identity systems for cultural programs; and digital campaigns calibrated for measurable impact.

What impressed the room
-
Interior & environmental design: human-scaled interventions for learning, retail, and cultural spaces; material palettes and lighting plans supported by clear occupancy data and circulation mapping.
-
Fashion & textiles: capsules that balanced silhouette language with responsible fabrication—pattern efficiency, fabric recovery, and after-care instructions embedded in the brand story.
-
Visual communication & advertising: identity systems with motion behavior, accessibility-ready typography, and campaign ladders that link big ideas to channel-specific executions and KPIs.
Jurors pressed for specifics—production feasibility, supplier options, costing, and how proposals would adapt to constraints on site or in the supply chain. Students responded with mock tenders, vendor shortlists, BOMs, and rollout sequences that showed they understand both craft and operations. Several projects drew immediate invitations for internships, portfolio reviews, and collaborative pilots.
The day affirmed Galala University’s studio culture: think with your hands, argue with evidence, and design for people. By bringing academia and the market into the same conversation, the showcase helps graduates cross the last bridge—from promising portfolios to professional practice—while feeding back insights that sharpen next year’s briefs.
