Galala University Hosts Inspiring Seminar on Disability Inclusion with Dr. Mostafa Attia
Galala University proudly hosted an insightful seminar featuring Dr. Mostafa Attia, International Disability Inclusion Consultant and Researcher at the University of Leeds, UK. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities within higher education.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Haider Ghaleb, Acting President of Galala University; Prof. Dr. Tarek Abouelmaaty, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, Acting Vice President for International Affairs, Community Service, and Environmental Development. Their support underscores GU’s dedication to creating an inclusive academic environment for all.
During the seminar, Dr. Attia shared his personal journey, highlighting the challenges he faced and overcame as a person with a disability. He also discussed the significance of fostering diversity, accessibility, and inclusion in higher education institutions, emphasizing that true progress can only be achieved when every individual is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute.
This event reflects Galala University’s strong alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly Goal No. 10: Reduced Inequalities, which focuses on promoting social, economic, and political inclusion for all, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, or background.
