Galala University Celebrates Historic Partnership with Arizona State University at the Pyramids

Galala University marked a remarkable milestone in its journey toward global excellence with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Arizona State University (ASU)—one of the world’s top-ranked and most innovative universities.

The partnership, celebrated in a spectacular ceremony held against the iconic backdrop of the Great Pyramids of Giza, represents a major step in Galala University’s mission to provide world-class education that remains accessible to Egyptian and regional students. Through this collaboration, GU students will be able to earn dual degrees from both Galala University and Arizona State University while paying affordable Egyptian tuition fees.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including H.E. Eng. Sherif Ismail, Former Prime Minister of Egypt and Chairman of Galala University’s Board of Trustees, and H.E. Mr. Jonathan Cohen, U.S. Ambassador to Egypt. From Galala University, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abou Elmaaty, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, Vice President for International Cooperation, represented the university’s leadership. The Arizona State University delegation was led by Professor Nancy Gonzales, Executive Vice President of ASU, alongside Mr. Douglas Becker, Founder and Chairman of Cintana Education.

This partnership exemplifies Galala University’s dedication to bridging the gap between Egyptian education and international academic standards. It underscores GU’s role as an extension of Egypt’s long-standing tradition of excellence and innovation—honoring its ancient heritage while shaping the future of education in Egypt and beyond.

Through this collaboration, Galala University reaffirms its commitment to providing students with transformative learning experiences, global exposure, and the skills required to address the challenges of the 21st century.
